After an enchanting walk through Montegiorgio’s historic centre (itinerary on page XX), you can enjoy a refreshing lunch, perhaps taste traditional local products, and then set off again to discover Cerreto. By car, you can follow SP 52 towards Rapagnano. After about 6 km, following the signs, turn left and leave the main road, continuing on a steep road immersed in the green that will lead you to the centre of Cerreto. The borough will welcome you with the remains of the roofless Church of S. Michele Arcangelo and Dorotea (17th century). Not much further, still outside the walls, you will see the Church of S. Maria delle Grazie with its remarkable frescoes. Going past the castle’s ancient gate, you will find some buildings and the village’s original defensive walls. Before you leave, pause for a moment and enjoy the silence and peace that only places like this can offer.
